16) 514-BILLETS – voluntarily undertaking – $100,000 For TextSpam (March 2018)

15) Ancestry Ireland – voluntarily undertaking – failed to provide a “STOP ALL” unsubscribe mechanism (Jan 2018)

14) Enterprise – $1,000,000 for emails that advertised misleading prices (Feb 2018)

13) Halazon (Couch Commerce) – $10,000 for emails without a proper unsubscribe mechanism (June 2017)

12) Hertz – $1,250,000 for emails that advertised misleading prices (Apr 2017)

11) William Rapanos – $15,000 For Spam Emails (Mar 2017)

10) Amazon.ca – $1,100,000 for (otherwise compliant) emails that advertised misleading prices (Feb 2017) special thanks to Philippe Le Roux for pointing out that this one should be added to the list.

9) Blackstone – $50,000 for B2B marketing to scraped email addresses (Oct 2016)

8) Kellogg – $60,000 for sending marketing emails without consent (Aug 2016)

7) Avis – $3,250,000 for emails with deceptive subjects and deceptive bodies (June 2016)

6) Anonymous – First Warrant and take down order (Jan 2016)

5) Rogers – $200,000 for for emails without a proper unsubscribe mechanism (Nov 2015)

4) Porter Airlines – $150,000 for sending mails without consent or working opt-outs (Jun 2015)

3) Compu Finder$1,100,000 $200,000 for marketing to scraped email addresses (Mar 2015) The CRTC issued an opinion reducing the penalty in Oct2017

2) PlentyOfFish – $48,000 – sending mails with inadequate opt-out mechanisms (Mar 2015)

1) Anonymous – First Action – cooperation to shut down spam ring that had compromised a Saskatchewan business (Oct 2014)
